Testing Provides Data
Mold is not always visible and, in some cases, the invisible can be equally or more harmful than what you can see.
Although there are ways to clean different types of contents exposed to mold spores, contents fall into categories of porosity and then add a factor for “condition” which will identify how impacted something is based on the IICRC S520 guidelines.
Why is this important? The “condition” helps identify if a “mold sensitive” individual should risk keeping certain items vs. discarding them. Knowing what we are starting with helps to identify what results we are trying to achieve.
Without testing, it can be quite the guessing game and get very confusing.
Best Practices for Testing:

- If you have done any testing inside your home, email it to:
themoldcleaner@gmail.com prior to your call for review (see HOW IT WORKS) - On your call, discuss optimum testing for best data results
- Order your testing
- Testing will come to you via mail with instructions
- You will perform the tests and mail directly to the lab with the addressed envelope provided in your package
- Once the lab receives the samples, the results are produced in 2-4 business days
- Results are emailed to The Mold Cleaner for evaluation.
- The Mold Cleaner will forward the results to you and schedule a follow-up phone call to interpret the results and formulate a plan for success!

If you choose to proceed with ordering test slides without a consultation call, please make sure you have had some previous experience. Know what you are testing and why, and make sure you are comfortable with the process. You will still receive a follow-up phone call interpreting the results. There are reasons we include some amount of consulting with the ordering of test slides.
It is important that funding and cleanup efforts are spent wisely and are very intentional and strategic.
